Protecting pollinators is one of the goals the United Nations has set itself to nurture biodiversity and ensure that everyone has access to adequate food resources now and in the future.
To actively help achieve this goal, Dr. Schär has installed sensors at its buckwheat supply chain in Poland that sample and analyze the buzzing sounds produced by bees throughout the year, monitoring pollinating insects in real time.
By reprocessing data from these sensors, and analyzing satellite images of the area, we will be able to assess its habitat and biodiversity level.
With timely data collection, we will ensure an important knowledge base to measure the benefits brought by our sustainable agriculture policies and refine our best practices to achieve the best results.
